“I think you’ve bought me a couple of weeks of bragging rights around the house,” he said. “I can just say to [wife Elsa Pataky], ‘Now remember, this is what the people think, so I don’t need to do the dishes anymore, I don’t need to change nappies. I’m above that. I’ve made it now.’”
All joking aside, the Rush star, 31, thought it was “pretty funny” when he heard the news—as did his model-actress wife, 38. “We had a good laugh at that,” he said. “I’ll put it on the mantelpiece just to remind her in the coming years.”
Family comes first for the Australian actor, who has three children with Pataky: daughter India, 2, and 8-month-old twin sons, Sasha and Tristan.
“We just had a big beach day with the kids, swimming and kicking the ball around,” the actor said. “That was the first time in a long time we’ve done that. That’s what it’s all about.”
He went on to say that the “best thing about fatherhood” is that “you get to be a big kid again.”
